Medical information must be correct, but also understandable and reassuring for patients. Especially around sensitive topics and procedures, a long text with medical terminology can raise additional questions or uncertainty.
Gynaikon Clinics therefore wanted to inform patients in advance in a clear and accessible way about what they can expect. As input, we received complex medical procedures, protocols, and practical instructions.
The challenge for Maxcademy was to carefully retain the content of that information, while simultaneously simplifying it to clear language and visual stories that patients can follow step by step.

Eight videos together form one clear patient journey
The videos were not developed as separate explanatory fragments, but as a coherent series. They follow the key moments when a patient needs information: from making an appointment and the intake to treatment methods and aftercare.
The series covers, among other things, scheduling an appointment, the intake interview, medication treatment, surgical treatment under local anaesthesia or sedation, treatment in the second trimester, advice after surgical treatment and follow-up and contraception.
This allows patients to specifically watch the video that fits their situation, while Gynaikon simultaneously uses one consistent way of communicating throughout the entire care process.
From script and storyboard to voice-over and final animation
Maxcademy guided Gynaikon from A to Z. The process began with the medical input. Our writers distilled the information into a logical story in understandable language and developed the content into video scripts.
Next, we translated those scripts into visuals. We developed an animation style that fits the target audience, determined how procedures could be best explained visually and handled the animation production.
The audio production was also part of the process. Maxcademy oversaw the casting of voice-over talent and the production of the various language versions, ensuring that content, appearance and tone remained consistent.
8 animation videos in 3 languages, freely available for patients
The project resulted in eight animation videos, each available in three languages. Gynaikon has integrated the videos into its own website, where patients can view them for free as preparation for an appointment, treatment or aftercare.
